Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on October 28, 1967 in the home of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Julia Fona Roberts is the 4th generation Roberts living in Atlanta. Early on, her father began to take an interest in theater. As a student in Emory University he appeared in diverse productions, both at and off campus. He joined the military in 1953. While stationed in Biloxi Mississippi, was cast in a military production that included Betty Lou Bredemus who was as well in the Air force. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year 1957. Walter as well as his spouse left the military in after which they began enrolment with Walter at Tulane University. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou financed their own production of a local children's Sunday matinee show called Bum Bum and His Buddies. In the following year, they established the Actors and Writers Workshop which operated for a period of six years. During this time they were blessed with two additional kids Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in 1965 and Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
